Lake Superior Coaster Brook Trout Presentation

Many people expressed an interest in seeing the Lake Superior Coaster Brook Trout presentation at the Northwoods TU April meeting but were unable to attend.  The presentation was recorded and is available here for viewing.  The presentation was about one hour long and is presented here in two segments of about 30 minutes each.   Our guest speaker was Henry Quinlan, US Fish and Wildlife Service, Ashland, WI.  Henry is considered by many as the expert on coasters.

Henry mentioned two publications in his presentation.  The first, "The Coaster Challenge: Restoring a Native Brook Trout Fishery in Lake Superior" was published by TU National in 2006.  I was unable to find it doing an internet search but perhaps a more determined effort will produce it for you.  The document is 88 pages long and touched on many issues relation to restoration efforts in Lake Superior.

The second publication, "A Brook Trout Rehabilitation Plan for Lake Superior" was published by The Great Lakes Fishery Commission in May 2003.  It is 48 pages long and provides the early objective and strategies for establishing a viable population of coasters.

A quick Google search  relating to Lake Superior Coaster Brook Trout will produce over 10,000 results, so there is plenty of information out there for those that are interested in further study.
